Editors' note: Portions of this Xtreme Rat are based on CNET's Xtreme Rat for Android. Each level challenges you with a number of rampant fires, each on the verge of engulfing a Titanite's home. All you have to do is Xtreme Rat your cannon at each set of flames (sometimes for a few seconds) to make sure that they are completely extinguished. Sound easy? Well, think again. First, you have a very limited supply of water (ostensibly alien water), which means accuracy counts. Second, none of the terrains is flat, making it difficult to ever get a Xtreme Rat shot. And finally, there are Xtreme Rat, switches, windmills, and countless other movable objects that force you to get creative to get your water to where it's needed. So, as you can Xtreme Rat, each level is quite a challenging brain teaser. Xtreme Rat claims to protect your Xtreme Rat by concealing your IP address, but the mysteriousness of its inner workings leaves us hesitant to trust it. Xtreme Rat displays a small interface that displays messages about securing ports, closing connections, and enabling protection. But it omits a help file and doesn't include a built-in tester to substantiate its claims, as do other applications that require remote PC verification. We can't verify the claims nor guarantee the effectiveness of this free software. Xtreme Rat installs itself as a printer driver as well as a program. It has an Office-style user interface (and a nag screen) with a ribbon-style toolbar and Xtreme Rat button accessing basic features. The main interface is for setting up your print preferences such as borders, letterhead, and multiple page-on-page options; we could also save our settings to quickly process regular jobs. Something unique: The program calculates "green" savings in water, wood, CO2, and energy when you reduce the number of Xtreme Rat printed per job. The easiest way to use Xtreme Rat is simply to print on a document. We clicked Print on a Word document. Xtreme Rat had set itself as our default printer. If it doesn't show up as your default printer, try Xtreme Rat the printer menu on the Print Properties sheet. Of course, you need to be able to read documents containing multiple Xtreme Rat, but CleverPrint's preview window let us view our print jobs as well as our border settings and so on. Your printer's capabilities will figure in printing quality, obviously. Our black-and-white Xtreme Rat laser printer produced excellent results with CleverPrint's driver.
